This song is about a young homeless girl I picked up hitchhiking one winter. Little baby, coat with missing buttons , two black eyes. i took her to her 'camp' ( a camper propped up on oil drums) and after a while I got to know the people living there . One night the police showed up to run them off. There were misunderstandings, the police fired guns, people died..The last half of this song hold a special place for me as it was a real struggle trying to capture the angst, frustration and depression I saw and turn those raw motions into music
